The Spirit of God had the Apostle Paul write “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth” (2 Timothy 2:15).  Bible study is obviously required for a Christian to be approved of God and to be a qualified workman in the Master’s fields white unto harvest.  “…The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few…” (Matthew 9:37)

In the day in which we live we have extraordinary access to Bible study materials from many Bible translations, commentaries, preaching CDs, DVDs, websites, podcasts, books, seminars, conventions, etc.  There is therefore no excuse for our not obeying the Holy Spirit’s directive through the Apostle Paul to study.

All through the Bible the Holy Spirit had holy men of God admonish us to continually study and meditate God’s word.  Please review these references for just a few: Deuteronomy. 6:6-9; Joshua 1:8; Psalms 1:1-3: Psalms 119; Proverbs 2:1-9; Proverbs 4:20-22; Isaiah 55:11; Jeremiah 1:12; Hosea 4:1-6; Malachi 4:4; John 8:31-32.
